to this stop on the SUDSOL Blog Tour, I know that you are getting some fabulous ideas for projects to make with the stamps and accessories in the Occasions Mini. If you didn't arrive from Anne Hayward's blog, make sure to click the back button and see her wonderful projects. Not only is Anne a talented stamper, but is so great at sharing her experience with fellow SUDSOLers.
I joined SUDSOL shortly after I became a demonstrator and it was certainly a great decision. SUDSOL is a wealth of information, helpful fellow demonstrators sharing ideas and advice, patterns, class outlines, calendar templates, workshop ideas, business building ideas and weekly challenges to keep your Mojo following and a gallery filled with inspiration.
Speaking of patterns, we have so many different patterns from Home Decor to cards. I love to package goodies to give to others and with 98 different box patterns in our Pattern Gallery, I will always have a perfect box for any item. I chose the Big Blooming Box pattern for my Valentine box making the basic box but then used our new Heart Framelits to make a window in the box.
I like to use Crumb Cake as my base as it looks good with any colour. Since I was filling the box with Ghirardelli Raspberry squares, I thought that Melon Mambo complimented the candy wrapper and chose the polka dotted pattern from our Designer Paper stack. The window is cut with our new Heart Collection Framelits, so easy to place and put your opening right where you want it and then a piece of clear Window Sheet is attached to the back with glue dots to contain those goodies. The Melon Mambo heart is also cut with the framelits, using the same one as the window and then the next size up to perfectly frame the window. The sentiment and cupid are from the P.S, I love you set, that is one great set, with lots of possibilities for anniversaries and weddings as well as Valentine's Day.
My next card uses another of my favorite sets from the Occasions Mini, You're my Type. I love the DSP pack, Attic Boutique, soft colours, soft images, all but this sheet, truthfully this pattern was a bit daunting to me. I love that all our papers are double sided so that if there is a pattern that I am not too fond of I can always use the other side but this sheet, both designs were well, not really my style. But look closely at the paper, lots of antique-y images, just like the typewriter in the stamp set. This card would be a perfect Valentine or anniversary or just card for that special someone.
I covered the front of a Whisper White card with the paper then used Poppy Parade(only four more months of this In Colour) highlighted with Basic Black punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch for just a bit of texture. The typewriter is Black embossed onto a 3 1/4" circle cut with my Circle Scissor along with the Basic Black mat. The Poppy Parade hearts are punched with our Owl Punch- just makes the perfect little hearts. Inside
My last card is a case of a card in the Sudsol gallery. It was posted by Mary Brown in the summer, and I fell in love with it and saved it to my favorites. When I saw the Fashionable Hearts embosslits, I knew this was the perfect layout.
Check out the Pretty in Pink hearts made with the Fashionable Hearts Embossit die which cuts and embosses at the same time. The die does make five hearts, I only used four. The bling comes from our fabulous Basic Rhinestones, I love how they come, both individually in three different sizes and then strips, perfect when you want a straight line. I used the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch for the Basic Black Circle filling it with a 1 3/4" Whisper White circle again, made quickly with another punch. The sentiment is from Delightful Dozen and stamped in Basic Black.
