Goodies on the doorstep

when I got home today.  Forget the stuff in the car, my SU preorder is here!!!  I didn't order much just one stamp set, one ribbon and one punch.  Well, are they what I expected--NO. I think they are better!  I got Tote-ally Tess as my stamp set in Clear Mount rather than wood block.  Well, I am sold!  Firstly, just imagine how many of these will fit in your cupboard

They are so skinny and you can read the name and see the images right on the spine. And on the front

Gee, I haven't even opened it or tried it and I am in heaven.  Stamp cupboard clean up will be happening in January that's for sure!  Ok, what about the stamps themselves.  Well, they are the same as what we have now, thickness and quality wise so that is great.  But mount them on the block and you can see where you are stamping with NO Stamp A Ma Jig.  Now don't get me wrong, I love my Stamp a ma Jig and use it all the time but I know alot of people who don't like it.  Maybe it is because I am left handed and teach all you righties so backwards you are confused-well, that makes up for not having left handed desks in college, you knew it would come back to bite you didn't you! So what did it make

When I saw this set in the Mini I knew that the first card I made would pair it with the sentiment from Full of Life.  Now notice the left side of the card.  I used one of the new punches Pinking Hearts border punch.  Well, these are different they arrive locked in the down position-you must remember to unlock it to make it work. It punched nicely-here is a close up

I punched one on Whisper White and one on Regal Rose and layered them.  Now for the flower I used Stitched Felt Sweet Pea from the mini.  Now I would have passed by this item in the book but I got it for free for passing My Digital Studio certification.  They really are nicer than I thought, and you get alot of them, not only the flower and leaves that I used.  I stuck them onto the card with mini glue dots and they are secure. Well now that I have teased you a bit, I have to wait like you till January 5th before I order anymore. Yes, all I want for Christmas is a SU gift certificate and I will be a happy girl!

Very Thankful

that I got a bit of stamping time today!  I really had a great productive day all round and even managed to get a bit of ME time. Today's card layout comes from SUDSOL, it's simple and makes a really nice card.

For this card, I used a base of Very Vanilla 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored and folded to make a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 top folded card.  The Old Olive layer is 5 1/2 x 4 and the Crushed Curry DSP is 4 x 1.  Tied on some of that wonderful Old Olive Taffetta from the Holiday Mini and the image is 1 1/2 x 2 with a slightly larger matting of Old Olive. Color up those images with your markers, pop it on with some dimensionals and you have a lovely card.

I just had to

something so not Christmas today. After doing so many tags really needed to do something so totally different.  I used my favorite Hostess set, The More the Merrier and stamped the birds onto Watercolor paper with Black Stazon ink and added color with my Stampin' Up markers and my Aqua Painter.    The chipboard heart from On Board Essentials was covered with Melon Mambo DSP and highlighted with some hemp twine and a button.  The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes is punched with the Modern Label punch and then the Night of Navy matting is cut with the Movers & Shapers dies.

Happy Monday

I don't know about  you, but my weekend flew by.  I guess it is because I have so much to do in very little time.  I am doing good at getting things crossed off the list so that is wonderful.  For the short amount of time that I got to stamp this weekend, this is what I did

Yes, more gift tags. The reindeer from Sparkly & Bright fits so wonderfully in the  1 1/4" circle, then layered it on 1 3/8" circle of Glorious Green then onto a Red Scalloped Circle (yes, just a few are the opposite depending on how much was left on the sheet.  They are all layered onto Whisper White tags cut from the Two Tags die. Today, they will all get their computer typed labels and then on to the cups they go.  And another thing crossed off the list!

Have you ever

wondered why certain sets appeal to you?  This was one of those sets for me.  I am not a dressmaker, I have never been to Paris nor have the desire to go (involves flying on a airplane for too many hours and my French-je ne sais pas), I certainly would not climb a tower like that (heights no thank you) I don't have a bird but I just love this set Chic Boutique.

Even the swirly frame thing is nice.

So here is the card that I made and I used Orange which again is not a "ME" color.

The dress forms were stamped on Very Vanilla and again on Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, cut out and attached on the forms to give more dimension.  This was then matted with Melon Mambo and then more of the Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, more Melon Mambo and then the Very Vanilla Cardbase.  The result a bright cheerful card.

The weather outside

is cold.  Having to scrape the windows in the morning, no fun but I guess it is better than rain and  at least the Bad "S" word has left the forecast.  What's better when you are cold but a cup of hot cocoa.  I saw this card on the SU demo website designed by Kari Eytcheson.  Well, I changed it a bit and this is what I came up with

I only changed the DSP on the front but inside is where I made most of the changes.  I made a trapdoor for the marshmallows.

And I changed the cocoa pouch on the other side, I added a small pleat to the sides and a paper "U" to the bottom to allow the cocoa package to fit in easier

Now this is a card that will be welcomed on a chilly day.

What can you cut with your Big Shot

and dies from Stampin' Up?  A basic rule of thumb is whatever you can cut with your Craft and Paper Scissors,  you can cut with your Big Shot and the Bigz Dies.  Take a look at what that includes:

So I got thinking about what I should make for my 2year old twin nieces for Christmas.  I have the Build a Bear dies, so got some Fun Foam and started.  This is what I did

Bath toys.  The net containers to keep everything in, came from the dollar store and inside they each get All you need to add is a bathtub full of water and these will stick to each other and to the tile or fiberglass walls.  When they are finished their bath, the pieces go back in the net bags.

Yes, It's True

I am certified!!  Now, my close friends would say Certifiable, but Stampin' Up says that I am Certified in My Digital Studio.

 What is My Digital Studio?  It is a wonderful, and may I tell you, EASY TO USE computer program, to make scrapbook pages, cards, calendars and multimedia projects.  It uses your pictures, Stampin' Up's papers, punches, stamps, embellishments and let me tell you again, IT IS EASY TO USE. 

I need alot of tags for a work project and I loved this Simply Scrapping Kit tag but I needed too many and to buy lots of kits just was not a option.

  So I used My Digital Studio, the image was right there put four of the image on the front of the card, copied to the inside of the card, 

Voila, eight images.  Punch them out, and created these simple tags using the Two Tags die with lots of room for writing.
